The Juggernaut - Guest Mix For GrimeSquad.US by GrimeSquad

Tracklist/Download

How did you guys meet?
We met through mutual friends, then we ended up playin in a band together.

Tell us about your past musical background a little bit. (bands ect)Gill and I had both played in hardcore bands before getting into production and EDM. We were in band together for about a year, then when the band broke up, we started dabbling in EDM production.
What genre of music did you grow up listening to, and how has it influenced your productions ?We both grew up on rock/metal/ hardcore. we still listen to a lot of that. hardcore had a big influence on our dubtep production, cuz if you listen to any hardcore breakdown, it has the same kinda rhythm of dubstep for the most part.
When was the moment you realized you may actually be getting somewhere with Djing and Production?I think the moment where we realized this was goin somewhere was when started playin out of state and also when we signed with a legit management company.
Whats a musical day like for you, do you have a certain work flow process Our work process is pretty simple. i usually will start an idea, i’ll lay out all the drums and an idea for a bassline then i’ll email it to gill. Then from there we usually just keep emailing the file back and forth til we are both happy with it. Occasionally we will get in the same room together and work on it, but that usually depends on our schedules and stuff.
If you could pick anyone to work with, who would it be, and why? If we could work with anyone, it’d probably be Wu-Tang clan, but ONLY if it included ol’ dirty bastard. That’s true Wu-Tang. A song with Tommy Wiseau would be cool too.
You’ve played some pretty massive festivals, tell us about your favoriteI would have to say Starscape fest was my favorite one. The Dub Nation stage was raging from start to finish. I got to play to thousands of people right along the bay, it was amazing.
Is europe on the horizon for the juggernaut ? As of now, there are no real solid plans for Europe. We would love to go soon though.
Tell us about an artist we should be listening to that we probably aren’tMEGALODON.
Any Collabs in the works ?Upcoming collabs include 2 with Zaku-Chan, who is a sick producer from LA. Also we are doin tunes with 50 Carrot and KLRGRM.
Upcoming releases ?Our rmx for Squalid Squad’s “Haters” just hit beatport (editors note, it’s kicking ass right now at #15 on beatport chart, go buy it!). “kick out da jamz” is comin soon on Chronos, we have a collab EP with Squalid Squad, and a few more originals just got picked up by a label that I don’t think I can announce just yet.
What can we expect from The Juggernaut in 2012?In 2012, you can expect more tunes, more shows, more hustling.
